The International Cooperative Alliance is happy to welcome the Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines Life and General Insurance (1CISP) from the Philippines as a full member in December 2019.
1CISP was organised to promote and engage in life insurance services as a cooperative. Last year, 1CISP was given authority to become a life and non-life insurance cooperative as it acquired R & B Insurance Corporation to provide non-life services. They operate nationwide with 10 satellite offices and 1 branch, insuring mostly the underprivileged and farmers of the country.
The cooperative has around 978,800 individuals are insured and 3,031 cooperative members societies in 2018.
The ICA has now 310 member organisations of which 269 are full members and 41 are Associate Members from 109 countries.
